I had the same problem with my Audi but one side would drop to the floor. I unplugged the leveling motor to get it through the MOT. I replaced the motor and had to reset them.

Are they both too low, perhaps they need resetting with tech.

I recently had my GSi mot'd and they said the lights were a little low. still passed it.
They dont look low while driving and mine still do the going up and down thing.

Has the car been lowered since the last MOT? i lowered a car a few years back and it failed on the lights, a few washers sorted that though.

    hi
turn on the lights first and then start the car
best is if the car is facing a wall, so you will see the beams moving
