    Default recovery service

having been in the rac on basic cover they wrote to me saying that my bank details had changed and could'nt collect the £44 pounds required .which i would have been happy to pay no problem .so insted i decided to see if i could get the same for cheeper and online the AA only want £29 for the same cover (infact any driver of the named car) obviously a new customer deal, as the RAC offer a simmilar deal. so should i just keep switching back and forth each year?

I was an AA man for 17 years. I left in 2006 and since then the service the AA gives has reduced. Every day we see people on the hard shoulder waiting longer for the AA than the RAC. Bear in mind thats in my patch, cant speak for the rest of the country.
As an aside, are you sure that your level of cover is enough? If they cant fix it you will only get a 10 mile tow. Maybe worth considering adding recover too, and the AA dont recover you after an accident, dont know if the RAC do.
