I've just been to Brussels and found diesel at an automated Shell garage at 1 euro 05= 80p a litre. I wasn't prepared to ues my credit card to feed the banks my taxes have just bought so I then filled up with Shell V Formula Diesel at 1 euro 19 = 99p with cash. 6 weeks ago when I went over diesel was exactly the same price as over here- so how generous is this kind government and our friendly fuel companies?
I'm just contemplating this smoking a roll up - made 100 yards from where I work but bought in Belgium for £4.00 a pouch yet sold here for £11.52. I'm washing it down with a scotch whisky made in Scotland and sold here for about £18 for the litre but bought in Belgium for £11 and placing the glass on a packet of fags that are made in Nottingham and sold here for £5.73 and in Belgium for £3.50.
The fantastic Chunnel carries a couple hundred cars a time plus all the ferries can manage and all coming back to the Uk will have filled up say £50, bought their wine and fags and everything else that is cheaper so at a min spent £100 all because the tax in France and Belgium and probably the whole of Europe is cheaper. Now Mr Brown, if you levelled the playing field to a par or cheaper than the mighty European brothers you keep going on about do you not think it might swell our empty coffers especially since you've sold all our gold at the lowest ever price and bought banks at an amazing loss to us the tax paying public????
Surely more at less is better than losing millions every day?
VV I'm after your job!!
Rant over!
