Damn Cars Ggggrrrrrrr

My car decided it'd had enough today and decided to make the worst sound ever whilst cruising along a dual carriage way.

For me, this is becoming a familiar sight....

Nice Mr AA man said the gearbox had gone. I've been having trouble getting reverse for a few days and on the way back this morning from a night away, 4th was starting to get stiff too. Then it just gave in completely. Funny thing is, it was booked in on Monday for VX to have a look for me.

I now have one of these curteousey of the AA

I'll be using it to go and pick up a 2nd had box tomorrow, then its a case of swapping the broken box for the 2nd hand one.

I'll be having fun Monday then!!

Sorry to hear about your bad fortune mate. Just out of interest, what is the mileage on yours. Surely even the high milers shouldn't be having too much trouble with the boxes just yet

Gutted for you m8,was it 5 or 6 speed box???

Its a 5 speed with just over 80k on the clock. Never known a car to kill its box.

Will be opening her up Monday so we'll see what we find.

Mine's a 5 speed and done 92k,can be a bit notchy now and again,let us know how you get on and find out the cause.....

Thats not alot of miles for that to happen. I had a sierra which was a ex taxi with many miles on the clock which when I bought it was knocking and banging in 1st and 2nd and then finaly died, but that was a ford and was expected
