rolleyes First go with a rotary.

Well after reading every guide I could find published on Machine Polishing as well as watching video after video on utube I decided to it was time to unleash the beast.

Predictably the minute I finished applying the wax it ****ed down so the pictures are extremely naff.

Won't bother going through he whole washing routine but for once I didn't use Megs #7. It made no difference to the panel I tried it on which meant that the rotary had done it's job.

I used Ultrafina on a AB polishing pad followed by Lime prime (original) to clean the remnants of the polish and provide a base for the Pete's P53 Black Pearl which I used as the LSP.

The finish was spectacular. The flake really popped in sun. There are still a few swirl marks left but I didn't try to remove them. Just wanted to get used to the machine first. I've got Fast Cut and a cutting pad to deal with them but that will come later.

Anyway some rubbish pics which don't do the rotary justice.

This was the only reflection shot I could get. The rain was deflected by the spoiler for just long enough for me to take the picture.

Total time was seven hours but I'll get quicker no doubt.

Thanks to Mark for the advise on what to buy and to Ed taylor for all the encouragement to have a go.

Looks good Steve , Shame about the rain. These polishers are not as bad as you think are they, you just need to be carefull with what you are doing. I don,t see any "bald patch,s" on your motor, so you have not gone through the paint then?. Having the confidance to give it a go is the hard part, then the rest is easy.

If I'm honest it was harder than I though it would be to start with but having said that it takes years I guess to get it right. An hour or so later it started to feel natural and I got quite engrossed.

    No bald patches yet.
