    Default Before it's too late..

Just a quick one from my tales of woe..

Went to unlock the car to come home tonight and nothing.. Remote's battery's had died.. But I'd only used it 1/2 hour before and it worked fine.. So the saga of getting to the local car parts place and a quick battery change later and I'm home..

But think of this.. How old are your remote battery's??? If I'd been out tonight I'd have been stuffed.. VX reccomend a change every 2 years.. when were yours last done..

    You have been warned..

They are supposed to be changed with the servicing, wouldn`t expect many are done though, I am going to changemine as they are getting a bit dodgy now, imagine clearing a foot of snow of it just to find you couldn`t start it *lol*

You can still open the door with the key though, then open the boot from the inside boot unlock button...

My wife's Vec B let's you start it after using the key. I just assumed the Vec C would be the same. Time I read the manual again.

Well, it didn't want to know me.. Lights came on the dash, but it wouldn't start.. I assumed the two were related.. the old B's were fine, open the door on the key and you were away.. Is it anything to do with the Cat 1 rolling code immobiliser now fitted???

With my last car you got a code with it, like opening a safe, 2 turns to the left, 4 to the right, 3 to the left kinda thing, then it disarmed the immobiliser. that was a decent idea ...

I had that not long after last service, locked car, went back as forgot something, wouldn't unlock. Luckily was at home ,went & got spare key. Could have been interesting anywhere else.
Straight back to dealer next day to replace battery
