Had q+h on mine for the last 11 months ,and i can say with all honesty ..had no probs whatsoever. oh and they run out @ £22 squid a set.
Depends how well you want to stop...........
Any motor factors will supply pattern fit pads for a lot less than that. Genuine Vx pads are actually quite good as long as you get the OE ones, not the cheap aftermarket set.
The next step is branded pads, from companies like Mintex, Black Diamond, EBC, Ferodo etc. but along with the better quality pads is a price tag to match - I paid about £100 for a set of EBC Red STuff pads for my front brakes, but they stop the car on a sixpence.
Like so many things, it's a trade off between cost and performance. You get what you pay for. But for something as important as brakes, I wouldn't go for a cheap option.
thanks for that? do you mean quinten and hazel? and how much are they?
the thing is the vauxhall pads are probably made by mintex or ferodo and boxed in a gm box and then double the cost?
realy my rears seem fine ? about half worn the fronts are 3 quarter worn? cars done 22 thou?
I tend to use Apec pads on QH discs when I'm replacing. Great price to performance combination, and the little motorfactors down the road does them cheap. Apec pads there are either £18.50 or £21.50, never anything different.
The QH discs are always excellent quality, better than GM ones in my opinion.
My Mk4 Astra ate rear pads, 2 sets on the back before the fronts were worn...
As we've mentioned Mintex, and in keeping with HEP's thread, I've been lokking at Mintex http://forum.vectra-c.com/showthread.php?t=60014 but had no joy.
