    Default alternator recall

    Hi
    Don,t Now If Any One Else Nows This But Just Took My 150cdti In To Have The Handbrake Recall Done And The Dealer Tells Me There Is A Problem With Some Alternators.
    They Checked Mine Out And I Am Now Waiting To Have A New One Fitted. Free By Vauxhall.

    yep, there is a recall 'in service' for some CDTi 1.9's... not a general recall, so if your car doesn't see a dealer it's best to ask if it falls into the range of the recall folks.

    mine is booked in 1st november to be checked,my car has fvsh but for some unknown reason it was never done,it had the recall for the dpf and handbrake done though,mine has 106k miles and it will still get done

    just had the phone call today to book car in for alternator, was on back order for 2 weeks,having handbrake and alternator done together. whats the dpf !! and whats the problem with it

    there is a rework on the dpf,or diesel particulate filter,mine has been done before i bought it

    DPF is Diesel Particulate Filter - there's a software upgrade available for the ECU which basically tells the DPF to regenerate more often and at lower speeds. Once you've had the upgrade done, you should be fine
