One of the guys in work told us a story last week which proves conclusively that dealing in bootleg copies can go horribly wrong.
It happened around 10 years ago. Someone was sent to Holland to do some project work at a local factory. On hearing that he was going to Amsterdam on one of the nights the other guys asked him to bring back some Blueys.
When he returned he told them that there was no need to buy anything as the hotel TV Porn channel was on all night so he'd simply used his video camera to record the TV. He's made 5 copies at that point and gave them out to the lads.
The guy we were with took his home and put it on that night. The tape started and the film began. Alas the bloke doing the recording had forgotten that TV's can reflect images too. and after 10 minutes he could be seen in all his glory erm.... enjoying the film.
Then no movement for the next 30 minutes before he started to enjoy the film some more.
This was bad but nothing compared to the next night of recordings when he could be seen blowing up a plastic partner. . The bloke telling us the story then explained how he'd immediatly taken the tape out and thrown it in the bin. Others who had the tape had watched the next bit with fingers covering their eyes.
The bloke who'd done the recording never lived it down but there are still four tapes unaccounted for.
He swore it was true and I've never heard it before. It is is correct it's true that there is someone always worse off than you.
