wow i will prob call them tomorrow, this is the response i got from them which i think was pretty fair , but some bulbs must go faulty at times and explode not just when touched seems a bit of a cop out,,,anyway here the reply

    Hello Dave

I have now had a reply from Japan and they can not offer any answers as to why the bulbs exploded, the only other time bulbs have exploded on the test rig is when the bulbs have become contaminated with grease or another heat retaining substance on the glass. This can happen when fitting the bulbs as it is easy to just knock the glass when trying to fit them.

Obviously without the glass part of the bulb we will not ever know, so a matter of good will they are prepared to offer to pay for the headlamp units effected.

To enable us to reimburse you for the defected headlamps and not the labour content, we will need forward the defected headlamps and bulbs with a receipt for the headlamps and payment will be made by return.

Please understand that this e-mail is not an admission of liability and is a gesture of goodwill.

If you can forward everything for my attention I will ensure it is sorted.

    Regards,

sounds abit crap its like they are doing you a faver even though its there fault or faulty products cant understand why companies do this. they are in a customer focused bussiness and yet the attitude towards the customers is shocking.its like its hassle for them to fix there problem.no what i mean though its not just here its everywhere nowadays.

i was thinking about doing that anyway heres my response i just sent

    hello Tim,

may i just say thank you for your response, but after reading your mail i cannot help feeling disappointed. firstly i do understand that in most cases bulbs will fail if touched or incorrectly fitted but i must stress not explode and leave glass within the unit, feel this is a bit of a cop out, secondly the cost to me of labour and postage to you of my headlight will not be acceptable this may cost in the region of 100 pounds not much less than the cost of the unit to which i still have to price, thirdly for me to initially pay for the unit again is not acceptable, i do feel that your act of goodwill now does not sound as such as well as the inconvenience to me while my car is in the dealership, i did already send the headlight bulbs to your local dealer or what was left of them , i spent 106 pounds on bulbs which i thought were the market leading and have never experienced anything like this before, i do feel there must be an easier way, i mean would your company think it would be an act of goodwill to let customers try before you buy your products and if they didnt like them just return them free of charge, i hardly think so ,so then why would it be acceptable to have customers to pay out of there own pocket any damage caused by your products before the were firstly reimbursed from yourselves. I look forward to your response.
