    Default Can anyone help????PLEASE

i have noticed that when i gently press the accelerater when stationary, on my 1.8 06plate veccy, the revs dont climb smoothly and im thinking it could be the reason for its erratic pulling away. does any1 have any ideas what could be causing it to do this.??? any commments appreciated.

I would guess that it is the accelerator pedal potentiometer/sensor. Because these cars dont have a throttle cable, its electroniclly controlled. Somtimes the sensor which relays the positon of the pedle to the throttle can have a few dead spots hence the inconsistent revs. I would guess that this is the most likely fault. But could also be somthing as simple as a sticky throttle butterfly valve/mechanism as again it isnt a throttle cable, its an electic servo/motor which operates the throttle. Just a couple of ideas anyway, hope this helps

As above...I think the pedal "sensor" might be faulty or you can try a reset on the ECU´s that might help. Also a software update can help maybe.

As it's still under warranty, why don't you take it to your friendly dealer and get them to have a look at it for free?
