Default 215/50 17 Tyres Urgent Advice Needed

Need to get 2 new tyres. Dont want to pay too much (below £100 each fitted) but don't want to end up in a hedge either!
    Any recomendations?

Have found Nankang NS-2 for £70 each or Federal SS595 for £75 each. Anyone had these?

    Thanks

Stop. Move away from the budget tyres!!

Get quotes for 225/45/17 tyres, a recommended alternative and ask for Goodyear Eagle F1's. You'll get them for much less than £100 a corner and you won't look back.

    Or spin out!!

I dont want different profile tyres on the front to the back as it would stop me using my spare and stop me being able to rotate the tyres so want to stick with 215/50's.

I 2nd that advice, much more choice in that size hence the lower cost.

How much life is left in the other 2 tyres? I would put the new ones on the back and when the fronts wear out you can change them to the wider size as well and start rotating. You can still use the spare.

To be honest, the difference in profile is negligable, recommended by Vauxhall, will pass an MOT no problem and opens the choice up considerably.

The spare issue isn't an issue at all, nor is rotating the tyres. As long as the tyres are the same size on the axle, i.e 225's front, 215's rear, or vice-versa, there are no problems at all.

Honestly, without being rude, you'd be daft not to go to 225's bud.

Problem is the other 2 are odd. 1 is a NCT5 and the other is a budget tyre I think. They have quite a lot of tread left. Wouldnt it be dangerous to have these on the front?

Not really. I ran 225's rear and 215's front for a while.

Plus, on the front, the horrible NCT's should wear out a bit quicker and you can put 225's there too! Win win situation!

For info, the space saver spare is the same size regardless of wheel size fitted at the factory, so mine will be the same for 19's as someones with 16" steelies!
