Question Vectra 2007 1.8i Estate - Do the heated mirrors really work?

Hi everyone. I've recently bought a 1.8i Vectra Life Estate 2007 - pictures of which will shortly be posted in the introductions section (I just realised I haven't blanked out the numberplate on the photos so will do that tonight).

According to specs online, my wing mirrors should be heated. However, over the last few mornings, my mirrors have been misted up and not cleared on a half-hour trip to work - so I'm now doing it manually each morning. I can't find any switch that turns on the heat, and the manual isn't giving me much help.

Can anyone suggest what to do? Am I being an idiot?

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards,

    Mike

They should work off the heated window switch, they are pretty good when they do work.

The Vectra ones are the same as the Astra ones, not very fast. The heated mirrors on my Corsa C would turn rain to steam instantly, think they must have run at about 70C!! Was funny driving on a frosty morning with steam pouring out of the mirrors!

I'm a little wary of leaving my heated rear window on due to the tint film. That said if I had the option I would leave the heated mirrors on all the time in the rain. Does anyone know where the split in the wiring would be to cut and add a separate button to power the mirrors on there own?

    Thanks in advance

Sure they turn off automatically after a pre-set time.
