Default Meet our new cat Nellie...

A couple of years after losing one cat, Charlie, to cancer we started to look for a new friend for our other cat Cleo.

This morning after 10mins deliberation we decided to adopt Nellie.

She's had a rough start to life in Ireland, has hardly been handled, has lost an eye (not sure exactly how but it was accidental) and she's still only four months old!

Cleo's kept her distance but has growled and hissed like a good'un but I'm sure they'll come to some sort of agreement! Any tips on how best to help the introductions?

    Here's Nellie:

And here's Cleo deciding what she thinks of the new arrival!

Very pretty, my old mate was the colour of her head with a cream belly.

Awwwwe Nellie is adorable and Chloe is too love her markings.

I just had a kitten and she goes in a crate so she can get to see the dogs and Ebony our other cat, this is a good way for them to get used to each other without any problems.

Phoebe has only been with us a few days and already she is getting used to our 3 month old Boxer, they came nose to nose a couple of times

You may have already noticed a few hisses from Nellie and Chloe, this is natural for cats...just like dogs when they growl.

Cleo's being the grumpy one, Nellie's just wandering around getting used to the surroundings - and fortunately found her scratching post!.

The noise that Cleo makes is quite scary!

Yes thats right lol, Phoebe has hissed and growled at the dogs a few times but they aren't bothered by her.
They are used to cats and it might be that she resembles Casper a lot, the cat we lost.

Yep, couldn't resist - she's so timid and shy its quite sad! Going to take a fair bit of work I think.

Cleo keeps growling but just wants to slink away from Nellie - almost as if she's scared of her! - and sit under the kitchen table!

Lovely little cat, hope she settles in soon. Our old cat lost an eye in a fight when quite young but they adapt well and he lived to about 16 very happily.
