window wiper grief

hi guy`s n gurls....
been a while, i got a problem with the above, mainly at 2am+, i come out of work the weathers a bit damp so i need my wipers `cue problem`

the wipers come on, but dont stop, they keep wiping untill i put them on mega fast and then push the stalk down till it clicks, sometimes they stop sometimes they keeps on wiping, if they do stop they`ll stop instantly wherever they feel like it, mostly not where there sposed to after a few mile (usuall outside my street) they return to normal
even when i do the stalk down one wipe thing, they stay on

drive to work not a problem, drive home as above so i`m thinking dampness somewhere.... any help apprciated cheers mark

Any ideas... i dont wanna have to visit vxh they want pennies just for looking with no guarentee of a cure

sounds like it could be a CIM fault..

put the car into vxh this morn to look at the wiper problem, and to get a service... came back with........

1. no issue with the wipers cause they work, no fault found but suspect the motor if it reoccurs 3 weeks of not working, get to vxh and they ****** work... typical
2 sticky os rear caliper and if changed new pads both sides, not able to service or overhaul (haynes says they can be overhauled)
3. steerin rack play, will need replaced b4 next Mot is there another name for the steering RACK
4. and new exhaust back box b4 next mot as its coroded

its only done ****** 37000 miles I`m depressed .... drove to halfords to get me a haynes... and guess what... i still love my vectra, the window wiper are still working it still brakes when i push the pedal and it still goes round corners, I`ll do the wiper motor myself if it does reoccur but vauxhall`ll can do the rest when they go, i`ll keep an eye on the calliper, prob remove and attempt an overhaul (poke n prod and a spray with brake cleaner) b4 phoning vxh, I`ll just need to save up
I`ve had 4 years good service and if this is all thats wrong with it, its not doing too bad eh

I had the same problem.... after brown trousering it when they stopped one rainny day on the m6 I took it in. All they did was use the wiper setting to test.

Any way - when it happerned I was near by one sundy so I grabbed the nearest sales person and said see that.... make sure that lot know its real.

Any way - long story short new motor for the wipers was put in.... all OK now.
