Default Changing Sidelights - I failed miserably !

So i decided to try the right hand one first. Removed the battery cover and the washer bottle filler neck. Got myself a small torch down in the hole and had a look around. I can find the main beam bulb, and unlocked the mechanism to remove the bulb.

Trouble is, the sidelight bulb is squashed up against the metal mechanism for the main beam bulb. I can feel the two bits of plastic that squash in, but i cant get a good purchase on it. Ive tryed pulling, but im only touching it with my finger tips so nothing happens. Ive tryed pulling at the wire, but there still seems to be some resistance even when im pushing both bits in

What am i doing wrong ?

Grip the bulb holder and pull it firmly, nothing else is required. I've found it helps to be crouching down looking at the bulb from the front of the h/lamp, that way I can sure that I'm holding the right bulb.
