Hey guys,
I've just been to top up my tyres.
I have locking valve caps but when I went to unscrew with the alan key, it just spun round. Looks like the thread is knackered, ****** cheap things.
Any ideas on how to get them off?
Cheers
Simon

You may need to have all 4 tyres re-valved.
If you think there knackered and are going to replace them why not try mole grips on them, could also try mole grips with a cloth to try and save them...
i,ll send you round the thieving BARSTEWARDS that nicked my locking ones last night ...they had a little trouble cos they manage to marked the alloys pretty deep
must be catching some scrotes removed mine thurs night going back to normal ones now fed up with buying them
Hole the stem with some pump pliers and use an adjustable. Worst thing that happens is you need them re valved. Thats what I had to do once and no problems
why people bother with locking ones are a mystery........ you put a metal bolt (tyre valve) into a metal nut (valve cover) and wonder why they stick??
you either have to put copper grease on the valve thread to stop the caps sticking, and then they get nicked with ease, or you put them on and tighten them up so they dont get nicked, and then you cant take them off yourself
you need some grips on the tyre valve and one on the cap to remove them, then sling them and stick with the bog standard ones, less hassle and cheaper to replace
I have the Richbrook spinning caps in black and I keep seeing finger marks around them but as to now they are still on
Apparently they are good ones, but still didn't work well.
Managed to get all but one off and doused it in WD40 so will try again 2morow.
Cheers guys
