    Default Tyre types

It's that time for me to be buying some new tyres.

I'm opting for the wider tyre (225/45/17) instead of the original 215/50/17. I've got a few tyre types below that i'm looking at buying but would like some advice (good or bad) on these brands please. I need a set of tyres that will do a lot of miles and last, also need them to hold the road quite well.

    > Avon (ZZ5, ZZ3)
    > Kumho (KU31, KU19)
    > Falken (ZE912, FK452)
    > Kleber (HYDRAXER)

I've only really heard of Avon and Falken myself. Had experience with Avon's before and they use to wear out quickly, don't know if that was just me though.

Any help is much appreciated guys, thanks.

Best tyre there is the Falken FK452. But if you want that lasts with still a decent amount of grip, you're best going the Kumho KU31.

For christ's sake don't buy the kenda's i had them fitted as budget tyres on these new alloys and they're frightening. Dry grip is ok but may as well be on slicks once the roads are wet. I'm just hoping they wear out quickly!

Yes i bought the Kumho's and they cost £300 fitted. (mobile fitting company)

In the dry they are perfect i can't fault them. However, in the wet they are not scary, but they could be a little better. But the tires are FAR better than the NCT's (Make sure you get the 225/45's because they look much better than the 215/50's)
