Default Someone reversed into my Vec yesterday.

Well guys and gals, the first calamity with the Vec since I got it in January 2006.

Mrs John CS was driving into work yesterday, got to the car park where she works and was following a Ford Focus around the car park to find a space. The Focus stops, noticing a car reversing out of a nearby space in the lane she has just driven past. She quickly chucked it in reverse, checked her rear view mirror, reversed and failed to notice Mrs John C S in a whacking great star silver Vec. She made fast reverse contact with the front bumper and there is slight damage to the outer LH edge of the number plate recess.

She got home last night and can't see an awful lot of damage apart from the damage above. The bumper on the Focus is not so clever though!!

Lady was very apologetic for doing it and we're putting it through her insurance.

I'm guessing that as the bumper has taken a whack. they'll put on a new bumper?

I'll be getting a hire car though!!! Hmm, pure tarmac terrorism

if the bumper is not that bad it could be repaired

see if they want to deal with it out of the insurance companys as they will fiit a new bumper and the body shop will keep the old one and repair it

    Cheers Mark,

I did use to have a Ford, but every one I have owned has bitten me!

The last one, a 1.6 Focus did only 24mpg around town, 32 mpg if I kept it at 56 mph and the carpets never fitted properly, despite having a new set under warranty!!

And the service manager could never explain why the 2.0 Focus courtesy car they always gave me felt slower than my 1.6!!!

When I bought the Vec, I'd swear never to buy another Ford!

Not a bad thought Glynn, but the woman in the Focus has accepted we will claim and stupidly admitted liability!

Haven't got the time to faff really, but a good suggestion. If i'd have reversed into someone, I'd try to keep it from insurance!
