    Default Factory Bluetooth Control Module

For those who have the factory fix CD70 phone bluetooth module fitted, any ideas where it is physically located in the car?

The TIS/wiring diagram information I've got is a little vague on this point. Assume its somewhere behind the glove box or passenger footwell transmission tunnel?

I'm not expecting the car to have the wiring plug fitted but starter for ten is working out where the parts need to go. Oddly the headlining has the factory fit microphone plug on the interior light harness which I wasn't expecting, so there may be some how of having the control unit plug as well.

It goes behind the oddment tray just below the heater controls. The mounting bracket for it is part number 13188437, it retails at about £3.

You will need to buy the wiring repair kit to get the plug for the control module. That retails at around £30. You will then have to make the harness up.

    hth,

    Paul.

    Thanks Paul.

Explains why I couldn't find the mounting points. For some strange reason TIS gives the impression it lives behind the passenger airbag. Under the radio makes a bit more sense.

Already have the parts, except the wiring bits and bobs so will have to pull the car apart at the weekend and see what plugs etc I have or haven't got.

    A big help,

I think you will find that TIS refers to the old style factory telephone wiring. All you will be concerned about is:-

    1. Roof microphone ( wiring should be already present). Part number 13255447.

    2. Bluetooth control unit. Part number 13252891.

You will have to order the wiring repair kit to get the plug for the control unit. You will also need wiring to make the loom up.

Tech2 to program steering control, colour display and control unit.

and the wiring repair kit aint easy to make up unless ya good and can work
out wiring diagrams.tis will show you both the pre facelift and the facelift
wiring setup but however the bluetooth will also work on pre facelift
although its wired differently, ive retro fitted 2 pre-facelifts and 4 facelifts
and all have worked perfectly, its just wether you have the relevant wiring
already present but then it can easily be retro fitted.

Got to agree with that, Andy is the resident expert on this. Holding the Andy option in reserve.

First job is to get access to the wiring harness and see what is present or missing and go from there. TPMS seemed to go ok last month, once the dealer got the hang of the programming (Give the dealer their dues, they did manage it).

Depending on how the Bluettoth goes, I'm still toying with the idea of fitting the electic seats including the DSM and aircon fans but still on the hunt for a donor cars for some of the mechanical seat parts.

I think theres a tradeoff with the aircon fans... cant remember what you lose or whats different.. Something to do with a different type of seat motors possible?

cheers for the part numbers for those. I might order the microphone to try with my pioneer head unit as i want a more factory look for it.
