Default Spark plug change on 2.2

A short while ago I cleaned out throttle body, EGR Valve , changed air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs, all were in a bit of a state to be honest apart from the throttle body which was surprisingly clean! anyway what I noticed was, when fitting the coil pack back on after fitting plugs, there didn't seem to be a real way of ensuring that the long rubber plug caps (if you know what I mean) were actually clipping on to the plugs as it were, just had to rely on doing up the four bolts and hoping for proper connection on to the plugs, however the car runs fine, has anyone else found/ noticed this when changing the plugs?

Vague is definately the word , expected to hear/feel them clipping on as you push down on the coil pack, like you would with the old ht cap business, suspect there could well be an air gap between insert in the rubber and the plug on occasions.

Hi mate and welcome to the site. Yes mine also started up ok , had a 2001 Omega before and that had a similar setup , but the rubbers were of a more solid kind and you could definatly feel that coilpack clipping onto the plugs; it's probably Vx (and other manufacturers) cutting corners again somewhere no doubt!!

Sometimes the rubber things split at the end and the dealers wont sell them seperately. I have 3 spare rubber plungers for £35 each.
