Default Possible Retro Fitting of rear passenger Stereo control

I've seen some cars with the rear controls for the stereo (back of front arm rest). Has this mod been done before?

It was a factory option mate. Its a separate HU for the rear passengers. Twin audio I think it was called.

Didn't think it was a seperate head unit, just a down spec front one that had a seperate input for the rear controls?
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
