    Default Fault codes 0422 0432

I keep getting the error codes :

    0422 and 0432

Main catalyst below threshold Bank 1
Main catalyst below threshold Bank 2

    Any ideas on a cure?

yep, you need to change the cats in the manifolds....best bet is to get a set off of ebay...you need the manifolds off a 2.6V6 or 3.2V6 with the cats in between the two lambdas

Will this cause the car the run a bit "rough"?

Especially at higer speeds and an acceleration cos it seems to have lost a bit of ooomph!

it won't cause rough running.. it just means the car is not running as 'clean' as it can...

as there is no differential across the readings of the two lambda's per cat it can't meter the fuel ratio as correctly as it would wish, so may well be running of 'average baseline' values...

lost oomph may well be the cat breaking up as well and blocking the downpipes, BUT if it is running off baseline values it will be down on power anyway ..

don't buy the manifolds new.. they are over £500 each..

I have managed to get hold of the manifolds/cats.

Is it worth changing the main cat too? and will this fit off the 2.6?

    I bet fitting is a B$tch?
Once fitted how do I stop it running on"baseline values"?

    Thanks

once it detects a correct range of figures from the 2nd stage lambdas it will revert to those....

ignore the main cat, they are more or less superfluous on these cars as they are after the measuring systems...

to change the manifolds, you just need to drop the front pipe down...disconnect the lambdas from the wiring looms, remove the rear heatsheilding from the back bank and be double jointed enough to get at all the manifold fixings..swap over your lambda sensors to the new cats and hope they are in good condition or it will all be to no gain....
