For those old enough to remember them......
Which of the group B rally cars was your favourite and why ?

Metro 6R4 purely for noise alone !
Wasn't the best looking car, that was probably the Audi Coupe Quattro S1 in my humble opinion.

yep had to be the 6r4,it was just so over the top especially when you saw one parked next to a standard mini metro
i was lucky enough to be in kielder forest the first time the 6R4 and RS200 were unleashed in anger head to head, what a noise they made in the dead of night

Have to agree there Phil. 6R4 sounded mental, but do prefer the sound of the Audi S1, can't beat that 5 cylinder growl.

As for looks, the Audi S1 wins hands down as you said, especially the Pikes Peak one with all them spoilers. People of the day said it looked stupid but looking back at it now, stunning! Even driving it on Colin McRae Dirt, it sounded exactly the same and looked awesome!

    Group B Forever!

    BTW, love the avatar.

being a closet Lancia fanatic i have to say, my personal favourite of the era has to be the stratos........couldn't find a non-original one for decent money so had to 'make do' with a Delta Intergrale turbo..

I prefer the RS200, had 2 scalextric versions of those (4 wheel drive as well), I've got an 1/18 scale diecast one in the cabinet at home as well

The Audi & 6R4 were serious motors as well, I was never really keen on the lancia though

It was a shame that the 6R4 was such a cockup engine-wise (blame Honda for that one!).

Audi Sport Quattro does it for me - along with the Pug 205T16!

Porsche 959 gets my vote - the technology was light years ahead of its time. Here's the road-going version:
