    Default 1.9 cdti 120ps 8v cam/timing belt change ??

ive searched all posts but cant find much about the 1.9 cdti 120ps

i would like some help and advice to the following questions please :

a "how 2" would be nice

when it should be changed ???

do i change the belt and water pump even tho its only a baby 120 ???

finally, i read somewere that if my belt did ever snap before vx's specified interval change time (eg 100k) then even if its out of warranty (which it just is) then they will mend it as there interval time stands as a guarantee ??? can anyone shed any light on this or answer any of the above questions please

    thank, lollypop

No idea about a How2, but I had mine done at 91k.

I was told by one dealer that its 100k or 10 years, then another dealer said they changed it to 60k, so thought what the heck and just had it done.

Had the entire kit changed to, tensioner, etc.

    Hope that helps.

    P.S. mine is a 120ps.

I'm with Benny on this....I've often stated ( okay , always.. ) that the 100K interval is TOO far....

swap it early to prevent heartache..

i personally think 40k is too low and a waste of pennies. besides if it goes at up to 60k, the chances are you are within warranty still. if not then surely vx will cover it as clearly the timing belt or components must be faulty if vx say they are good for 100k - as long as it's not 60k at more than 5 years.

changes between 70-80k for me. but obviously that's just my opinion and my gamble

100k or 10 years I was told, same as valve clearances.
VX have extended the service intervals.
