    confused Stone chip film

With the new Vectra due any time, I'm thinking of getting some of the stone-chip protection film fitted so it doesn't end up totally shredded like the Astra.

I've been quoted £220 for bumper and half bonnet, fitted.

Is that a decent price, and is the stuff any good? Any other recommendations?

You can give it a shine, but will never give as good a result as paint. With it being Star Silver though it shouldn't cause too many problems.

Yep, will look a little duller, but to be honest my car is pretty much dirty all the time anyway thanks to the miles I do on minging rads.

Just ordering some Collinite things for the rest of the car

i'd ask what film he uses and whether it has a guarantee against fading and yellowing. just to give you an idea, Llumar film has a 5 year guarantee

find out what film he uses, do some reasearch on it, make sure you are happy with it, and then make sure that he's using what he says he's going to use. this stuff is going to be on the car for a very long time, so putting a cheap product on it will be a waste of money and it will constantly bug you if it starts to yellow prematurely.

This is the stuff he uses:

    http://www.ventureshield.com/

I'll do a little research later on what it's like.
