wiper motor and linkage

hi all just bought a linkage and front wiper motor off a 06 reg car for £40 delivered is that a good price for second hand stuff??

Yep, not bad at all given that the linkage new is £70 odd and the motor even more i believe.

Are you replacing just a broken linkage? I ask because no matter what a Vx parts dept. may say, you don't need the new motor to fit to the new linkage, the original motor will fit just fine to the new style linkage.

i have a really loud noise when the wipers are going which sounds like the motor is on its way out but ive also been told it could be the linkage, so when he offered me them both for £40 i thought i may aswell change both

Gotcha - yep, for £40 for both you certainly can't complain! Bahaaargain!

Bargain mate. mine went but i fixed it together with tie wraps and so far so good lol

Autovaux quoted me £50 before vat for a new one. Cant get the scuttle panel off though so the cable ties will have to do for now.

God knows mate. Its like it has been bonded to the screen or something? I bought it with 11k on the clock I think, so it might have had a screen change before I had it.

quick update just received the motor and linkage looks fine but on the revised linkage what colour were the joints? these are brown rubber like ones?? makes me think its from an older car??
