Unhappy My Scooby went nuts ! broken

well on my way home tonight at 4.15pm coming down the Slip road onto the A19 from Wessington way my scooby went nuts ! Engine management light came on lost all power would not rev past 2000 rpm and had to stop on the slip road , car wouldnt start after that, i didnt know what the hell to do so phoned the garage I bought it from and they were spot on , got me to phone subaru assist who were excellent they had a Subaru specialist with me an hour later and kept phoning to ask if i was OK ! , anyway guy turns up car starts first time (engine light still on) so he escorts me to a lay by where he plugs his diagnostics machine in and says the Engine management is flagging issues by now its past 5.30 , he phones the garage up they stay open late just to get my car booked in and he escorts me to the garage we arrive at 6.30 (car was running fine ?? engine light still on tho) guy books in my car and has a courtousy car sorted for 9am tomorrow delivered to my house. Then he gives me a lift home. So 10/10 to subaru cust services and they say its all covered by my warrantee. Interestingly when i phoned the guy who i bought it off he was telling me they had to spend over a grand to get my old veccy running properly said they had to changed the timing chain and other stuff (i dont recall as i was on the a19 stranded at the time lol )

Just hope they dont just clear the fault and actually try and repair it instead of just hoping it was a one off - call me sceptical but i dont trust garages at all !

Oh and to top it all i missed my little lads 5th birthday party , everyone was leaving just as i got home , why do these things never happen when you having nothing to get too !?

p.s sorry for the long post lol

Thats very good service from the garage though - is it privately owned?

Shame you missed the birthday bash, and as Mark said lets hope they get it back 100%

well hire car turned up at 8.45am today, a 1.6 focus and i dunno why people rave about these cars i think its very very plain and so slooooow lol . The garage is GMD in Pity me durham . think its a subaru / fiat franchise .

Just hope they dont ruin it all by trying to claim its not a warrantee fault ! hopefully find out more today

    so far so good.......

well shes back all well again so full marks to gmd dealers and subaru assistance , they've played an absolute blinder. Only cost me my time as was all covered by warranty.

turns out it needed a new throttle body - dont ask me ....i dunno what one of them things are lol

Thanks for the well wishes too . Only problem is now i'm scared to drive it incase it goes wrong again , drove like a nun on the way home lol

From listening to all my mates that have scoobies I can pass on one bit of advise, the lads that drive like nuns have faults all the time, the lads that drive them hard (but allow them to warm and cool properly) never have any problems.

They are quite hardy cars, farmers wouldn't have it any other way lol

cheers karl , believe me i dont drive like a nun just last night when i got it back . I do let it warm up and cool down it runs like a pig if you chuck it about when its cold so i avoid it as much as possible.
