i did something good today in work

i was in work today and did a very good thing

i was in work today when i over heard a forman telling a first year aprentence to drill 3 x 50mm into a board in a wall to run cables,, he drilled 2 of them befor i stoped him drilling hole 3 i whent nuts on him telling him what the hell did he think he was doing """ er i was told to ""

the words i was going nuts istnt halfway there whent to there main officers asking to see there asbestos registrer and get told they dont have one and why would i need to see it anyway.

i didnt need to see it i know what it was and got on the phone to the HSE they where there in under 20 mins and i was right to call them to its a real bad one its deadly aib so im happy that i did what i did .

the main contractors know it was there but by the time all the paperwork had been done the info was no-longer on any paper work that id been given

and by the way its already had the holes drilled in 81 other flats

what do you think happened next

That will be expensive! Good thing you stopped him though, we all learn and it wasn't his fault.

all the flats are being lived in there is 1 floor that isnt and thats only due there being a murder there last week so there is 17 floors being lived in

so what do you think happen next

You asked to see his engine graph?

There's a plethora of things that have to happen before drilling into AIB. Exposure levels, RA, warning signs etc. etc. etc. Did they issue a prohibition notice?

chris your sacked theres the door dont come back ..

i was getting paid monthly so i would be getting paid friday well i might be getting paid friday

the main contractors have called in a company to sort it out as there used by them all the time and they were on site to remove anything that maybe iffy and there not happy iv been sacked

well i was still there trying to sort out if i was saked on not the company that was going to sort it all turned up and told me all the ceiling in the flats have aspestos in them and some of the hallway walls and all the bathroom and kitchen walls do the kitchen and bathroom both have aib

omg thats a lot in my mind i dont know what you think?
i was alway told if aib was found it had to be taken out

im glade i did something i just hope iv done the right thing

no warning signs anywhere iv looked there say it's not needed

iv never worked where there wasnt warning signs

there is one thing the company i was working for has got a big bill comming
