confused Vectra Price - Your Thoughts Please

Have made enquiries about 2 Vectra 1.9CDTi SRi's, one in black one in silver, both on 05 plates so obviously pre-facelift models. They're both advertised at £5795, full service history, one owner (ex fleet i believe) BUT my concern is the mileage on both vehicles. One is 70K the other is 80K. Basically what i'm asking is, have i every right to be concerned or are these mileages nothing to worry about? Any help/advice is always appreciated, thanks!

Check if the inlet manafold has been done - if it hasn't you'll be faced with a grand for repairs pretty soon.

Want a diesel for better towing capability that's why mate! My 2.2 Petrol tows my van o.k but not great. Read quite a few reviews that rate the 1.9CDTi as a great towing car so hence me looking to change from petrol to diesel, nothing at all to do with miles.

You'd be better off with the V6 CDTi if you're towing. Plenty of them about, and you should get them cheaper than the 1.9CDTi.

I think the V6 CDTI Vectra got some award a few years back from on of the caravan magazines or clubs...

Yeah i know i did see the 3.0V6 CDTi won an award back in 2005 for being a brilliant tow car. One or two friends have tried to steer me towards a Mondeo or a Passat but to be honest i do want to stick with Vectra, a great car in my opinion!

The Mondeo is stuck with that miserable 136hp PSA unit, and the clutches and flywheels fall out if you look funny at them.

The Passat is a good car, as long as you're not paying for it, for the money you could have a much higher spec, younger Vectra with a diesel that didn't fall out of the 90s.
