2.0T in Northern Ireland?!? lol, no hope.
2.0T in Northern Ireland?!? lol, no hope.
one of the reasons why my next car will be a diesel is power (150bhp) and the cost of road tax,a 2.2 direct will use more fuel, very little faster and will from next year will cost £100 a year in road tax extra
what about the 1.9cdti 150 vectra like mine and you an remap that?
I'm worried about the flaps ad18...
What's the fuel economy like on yours? You've a remap on there as well?
120 cdti is a stronger engine so i have been told ( and i have one) ....re-map to about 170 and bag's of fun
THe 120 is also rocking-horse doo-doo over here. Basically it's 1.8VVT or 19-CDTi 150, the odd V6 CDTi
Buy the Xp2 150, you will love it, im lovin mine to bits.
I can understand where you're going with this ZS.
During the course of the year, I go on a lot of trade do's, most of which include track days.
I drive a lot of nice cars, including supercars like the Ferrari F430 and Lamborghini Murcielago. Have driven a modded and chipped Merc SLK350 and hated it, even on a track.
Perhaps you've reached a crossroads in your life where power isn't important anymore?
I sometimes ache for a bit more power on the road, but I can't necessarily be trusted with it and having a little one to consider, being sensible must come first.
After these track days, I'm glad to serenely glide home in my 1.8 Vec.
I would imagine the VVT is quite pokey. Pokey and torquey enough for VX to delete the Close ratio gearbox on the SRi's etc when they introduced it to the range!!!!!
john, I think you've probably hit the nail on the head. I'm 32 now, and to be honest other than the occasional quick blast past cars on A-roads, I don't actually drive fast.
I'm not actually used to fast cars anyway - 1.1 106, 1.6 8v Astra, 1.2 Corsa, 2.0DTi Astra, and now this one.
Now, a XPII 1.8 would be ideal
I don't actually find the 1.8 Non VVT that slow!!
It's a bit laggy down the bottom end (something that should've been addressed with the VVT), but it can be quicked when pushed.
Ok, the engine note lacks a bit of character, but then it's hardly thrashy sounding either, even at the 6500 rpm redline.
I can beat my father in law on a standing start on a motorway in his 140bhp PT Cruiser every time. Done it about four times now and he's been trying. The delivery of power is pretty seamless upto that redline as well.
It is really quite a good engine. Have driven a 2.2 Direct and I admit it is a hell of a lot more torquey, but the 1.8 is not as far apart as you'd imagine!
