Any tips would be very helpfull!!!

Hi all,as most of you know getting a leather interior delivered in a couple of days and want some tips on removing my interior and fitting the leather,like would i need to disconnect battery,would i need any special tools and how long would it take,roughly........

Always nice to have some info before i tackle a job.also the guy i bought it off told me to change the pretensioners as the interior came out of a accident damage vehicle and he said not to use them but use the one's from my interior,any help would be great......

You'll need to disconnect the battery so as to discharge the airbags etc. in the seats. The actual seat removal is pretty straight forward. You'll see the bolts you have to undo on the rails when you push the seat forward and backward. On the rear bench I think you're lucky if you can remove it without breaking some clips, so may be an idea to get some in advance.

As long as the pre-tensioners on the donor seats haven't fired, I can't see why you wouldn't be able to use them.

I could i tell if they have been fired???

I'm pretty sure if they've been fired,then some sort of yellow/red indicator is visible on it to let you know. Can't recall the specifics, but I'm positive there is some physical visual indicator.

My old Vectra B had yellow plastic bits that stuck out of the seatbelt fasteners when the pre-tensioners had gone off to prevent you pluggin the belt back in.

I found this out after I'd crashed it obviously...

you will need a torx 50 to take the seats out

and just undo the plug under the seat

I would refit your seat belt tensioners just be on the safe side. At least you know they have not been in an accident! You can tell if they have gone off as the height of the tensioner will be reduced. ie the bit where you plug the seat belt into will be shorter if that makes sense.

I would remove the seats in the following order:

Rear bench base (pulls out)

Sides to rear uprights pull out

Fold down bench upright (prise the spring loaded attachment at the side in with a strong screwdriver and then the seat will lift out)

This will give you more room to work in to get the front seats out

Remove the 2 Torx bolts holding the seat belt to the base of the seat
Working from behind the front seats, release the harness under both front seats then slide them fully forward and you will see the two torx bolts on the metal runners. These do not normally come out easily so I would have a bar ready.

Once they are out pull the seat towards you and out they come.............

Watch out for some little black clips which are fitted under the runners at the front as these seem to always get lost. Stangley I have found that some cars have them others dont. They can have two or one per seat as well. If you do not put the clips back on the seat will rock.

Removal is a reversal etc etc......
