    confused CD30 mp3 problem/question?!?

    Hi,

A few days ago i replaced my CD30 with a CD30 MP3. It appears to work fine but the 'reading' times are soooooooooo slow. At a guess i'd say it takes about 4 times as long to change a track, just pressing next, than it did whilst using my old CD30. Everyones telling me it's because it's MP3 tracks!! But when i had a CD70 in the elite and pioneer in the Renault neither took this long accessing MP3 songs. Oh well....

mate, stick a CD in and it will read it just as quick as the CD30 but definately a bit slow on MP3s.

slow loading/seek times could also point to a dirty head too. but try above as suggested.

Hmmm. Missus Astra has a CD30 Mp3. Reads them just as quick as my CD 70.

or just as slow... depends of how the disc is organised in folders/albums

The CD 70 loads them in a few seconds as does the CD30 MP3. OP said the CD70 was quicker in their experience but see your point if the discs used in each were arranged differently.
