    Angry "Miow"....Crunch!

Driving down the A5 0300 this morning after a half night shift, 40 mph when a cat runs in front of an oncoming lorry, hits it and gets flicked up off its wheels directly into the front of my car. CRUNCH.

    The result:
    -Completely smashed lower front grill
-3" crack to the bumper below the grill
    -Smashed NS fog light housing
-Head shaped dent to the radiator with cat hair inbedded
-Various deep scratches to the surrounding bumper

    What a repair bill.
    Not happy.

    Poor cat

To do that much damage, you sure it wasn't a tiger?

Sorry to hear this mate, this is why i'm against folk just letting cats out to roam...
Happened to me quite a few years ago, cat ran out, i wasn't speeding, damage to car & the kids were in the back of the car suggesting i rushed it to the vet.
Result = massive vet bill, cat now only has three legs, couldn't trace the owner..
So rehomed it with a family member & repaired the car myself...

The thing is, i hit a tree branch about 6 months ago at higher speed and that did no damage what so ever. I think this was possibly the world's first solid grannite cat.

It ran ran away afterwards but being hit by an articulated lorry then bounced into the pash of MY veccy, I hope he has atleast a headache. But I have a cat so I hope its ok.

Iv repaired the fog light because it was the mounting brackets that had snapped. The grill is beyond repair but easily replaceable. What REALLY gets be is the bumper crack, I even thought about covering it with the XP I lower front spoiler but its JUST higher than the spoiler would cover.

The radiator is a worry, there doesn't seem to be any further damage to it other than the dent. Ill keep an eye on it but I hope I won't have to replace that. Couldn't show the missus though, there is still cat hair in there!

Im trawling fleabay for salvage front bumpers. Main dealer eplacement will surely cost the world (+ VAT)

Unlucky mate, IIRC a new bumper from a dealer is £250+VAT plus painting.
