Think i've made the right decision!

I've a few jobs that need doing on the car: service, new exhaust, front pads and tyres. Anyhow knowing all this need doing I went looking at a Vectra SRI 1.9CDTI (150) it was on a 05 plate had covered 35k and up for 6.5K. Took it for a test drive and wasn't as impressed as i expected to be.
My initial comments were:
Where had all the equipement gone, the vectra was really basic inside!
Handled ok but power all comes at once, not got the smooth delivery like in the signum.

We went in to speak about money and deals etc, they valued the signum for PX. Got offered 3k for the sig which disapointed me a little. Decided not for me, but they were keen to sell, before I'd even got out the door were offering 3k (included 3yr warranty, 3 year service plan) to change. Got a few more calls over the weekend but I've decided to spend the 1.5k on getting mine back upto scratch, might even finally BSR it for added smiles.

I have to agree with you...i've had a 150 CDTi on an 05 plate and it was robbed bare..

compared to a signum it's featureless...

sometimes you just have to plough some cash into your own car... to improve and upgrade it.. rather than rush out and change it because you have a big bill coming....

I was in an 08 Vectra Elite for a couple of days recently and I was shocked at how little it had compared to my 03 Signum Elite! It was robbed bare!

The only two things that it had that I thought were nice were the CD70 Nav with the colour screen and auto-lights. Oh, and the dimming driver's side mirror - which I've since retro-fitted anyway.

It was a 1.9 50 as well, and as you Dennis I didn't like it. Absolutely fap all power under 2000rpm - huuuge turbo lag - then it all suddenly kicks in.

Got back in my car and the difference in spec was like night and day. It also went just a wee bit quicker!
