    Default Light steering

I know this has probably been asked and answered so sorry to post again.

I have a 2.2 dti 41k on the clock, it has had a new steering rack and springs on the frony within the last 6 months.

I have had the steering checked by 3 garages but it still feels very light, especially on the motorway. It feels like it wants to wonder. The tracking is spot on and the tyre pressure is right. Any suggestions please.

    Regards

ha sit had a four wheel alignment, or was it just a two wheel ( front) alignment?..

have they fitted the correct springs?..

if the tyre pressures are 'right' all it can leave is slight play in the steering arm joints or poor tracking...

I'm afraid that vectra c's and signums really need 4 wheel alignment..

The springs were fitted at VX, but i think it has only had the front alignment.

Whats the correct pressure, is it 32.

If it has had a steering rack fitted then surely it shouldn't have play in the steering arm joints or am i being naive.

the rack is a 3 part item.. you have to trust that the outer arms were in good condition when the central rack was changed...

they need to check for wear on all the bushes and joints in the suspension, then check the whole cars alignment..

BTW, what tyres are you running?
