Default Drivers seat belt after crash

Does the drivers seat belt give up after the car has been in a crash? I know the pre seat tensioners normally go but it's my drivers side seat belt that's not working on my vec c sri. It's stuck out after the last person was wearing it, it won't retract. I was thinking of taking it off and having a look at it, as it won't pass it's mot not working. My seat belt pre tensioners are fine .

only the tensioners mark as they will need to be replaced

and you will need to get the airbag module tech 2 to remove the crash data if the cant be donr then you will need to send it to http://www.crash-data.co.uk/ as i had to send mine here

if the belt was worn at the time of the crash the tensioner would of deploded and its worth removeing the belt to see why it not going back . you can always get a second hand one

Normally when the tensioner goes the yellow tag pops out, it looks fine on mine. I have not worked on a Vec C before, so I was not sure how the seat belt thing worked after a crash. I was thinking of buying a blank airbag module from Ebay and fit the new bags, then take it to Vauxhall to get it cleared.

when my tensioners went i didn't have ant yellow tags

if you buy a blank module if will cost you £70 plus what ever vx will charge to chand the data of the car for reprogramming, so it will be cheaper to send your old one of as the charge £60 which includes the returnit as next day delivery

So you save about £10. Will Vauxhall still have to tech 2 it to remove the airbag fault? I still need a dash and both airbags yet, but that will be the last thing I do. I missed a dash on Ebay the other day for £50 . Cheers

If the bump was enough to trigger the pretensioners I would be inclined to replace the whole belt. It's not easy to tell what damage there is, it isn't expensive and it may save your life.
