light on dash

hi all just went to take little one school and as i started the car a light appeared on the dash. it was yellow, looked similar to a can with wavey lines in it?? but when i come back from school it didnt come on cant find a pic is there a thread on here with all the symbols on? or does anyone know what it is? tia

If its not come on again just visually check the levels on the tank. Mine did this a few times but the level was fine

Isn't it because it is getting cold outside and the level dropped a bit more so the light came on. I would check the level when cold, it may just need a drop of water.

if the level is fine it will be just a dodgy sender unit..buy a new header tank and it will cure that..

Don't top up with just neat water.... always to up with 50/50 coolant mix or you weaken the strenght..

I suspect it is a slightly low level hence the light went out when warm. You will only need to put small amount of water in so no real need for more coolant.

This is the coolant level warning symbol...can't say I'd describe it as "a can with wavey lines in it"..

Thats the coolant fluid level warning. How about a square with bumps in it?
