    Default Air con regassing

How much should a regas cost?

I've just been Quoted £185 by Vauxhall in Reading to have it done.

Is this right, or are they proving me right in my assumption that they all wear Chaps and Spurs?

They say all the gas has gone, but can't find a leak! I asked about 'Field Remedy 1468' but the bloke said it wasn't leaking - they used a dye to check this.

    £185

    £185

Sounds just a bit on the pricey side! Last time I had it done it was about £45 I think...

just spoke to another Vx main dealer just outside Reading, £79.

An independant who comes to your house to do the work £50 + vat. He also does smart repairs to chips and alloys.

Guess who's getting my business. Inchcape Reading NEVER will again.

Just been to retrieve car from afore mentioned spur wearers, and found the bonnet bent up slightly as they had left two of the air con systems caps on the drivers side inner wing.

Needless to say a row with the service agent and the sales manager ensued. I will be in contact with the General Manager and Service Manager on Monday. I do not appreciate being shrugged at when I point out their substandard service has potentially damaged my car.

By the way in case anyone was wondering, I normally can't be doing with people who whinge and moan, It's all I've done here today!!

Don't worry about having a moan m8, we all learn from others experiences. It just goes to show what some service centres think of their customers cars. How would they feel if it was theirs

    That's why we're here!
When you've had a bad experience it does you good to 'let off steam' (and doing it here saves having to kick the cat)
