road tax question

Hi guys,My sisiter was asking me about this and I do'nt know.I'v a 2.2 petrol I'm £210 for tax she has a 1.8 estate and pays the same but my dad has a 1.8 hatchback and he is a tax bracket down why is the estate with the same engine not the same tax bracket.

There the same age but why are the emission not the same its the same engine. She asked the local dealer and they could'nt give here an answer.

Hatch 175 g/km

[Thunder]

The Estate has more drag so uses more fuel

Autos are the same (use more fuel)
