    Default 38.8 Litres

This afternoon I donated my 69th pint of blood or if you like my 38.8th Litre. That is over half a tank of fuel to put it into perspective, no doubt it has saved a life or two. If you are not yet a blood donor, it is something to think about doing if you are able to do.

Congrats Ed that's a great achievement! Half a fuel tank full!

It's something I've thought about many times and would like to do as I know how important it can be when someone needs blood, but I don't match the criteria.

Over half a tank of fuel....

    Hmmm...

What sort of economy do you get from blood...? Could be cheaper than buying fuel...

On a more serious note, I must get around to doing this...

On another lighter note, anyone remember Hancock...? And no, not the superhero - the episode where he gave blood...

69 donations is an excellent achievement. I'm only on donation number 15 (I think) - working up to my next award at 25 donations.

btw - a donation is actually about 470ml - just under a pint (568ml). so 69 donations is about 32.4 litres. Still a good result though, well done!

Doesn't hurt - slight scratch when the needle goes in, but they do use an anaesthetic before they insert it. have a read on www.blood.co.uk for more info...

Thats quite an achievement, and you have my admiration and gratitude for doing this... well done indeed!

I've not given blood since I was in the forces, and am now unsuitable due to health reasons, but as a recipient of someone else's blood during 3 major heart opps I truly and sincerly thank you!
    Give this man a knighthood.

Yes.. The Blood donor was a real classic, have it on DVD, also have a few of 'Hancocks Halfhour' progs recorded on mp3 which I occasionally listen to in the car when on long trips. Really funny.
