Default BSR - "E85" Ethanol conversions

These are available now for the Vectra - anyone here gone for this conversion, looks pretty good on paper.

As said, Bioethanol is not freely available and may well 'die a death' in due course. Unwise to assume that what the Scandinavians do today, we'll all do tomorrow IMO

IIRC cars running on E85 kick out a bit more power too, than on petrol.

Yeah, power of 2.0T goes from 170 bhp to 220 bhp with this.

Morrissons are selling bioethanol at a lot of stations in the UK. Just a shade cheaper than petrol, so it wouldn't be for cost purposes.
I don't expect everyone will run the stuff, but some serious tuners might be interested in the higher performance.

I think if BSR was a little more like dreamscience (not "married" to the car) it would appeal more to me, as that way you can either transfer or sell the product on....

Does not the engine need to be adapted in some way for E85? Saab have a E85-specific 2.0T model listed.

Bioethanol is available across Germany - cost saving of approx 40 cents/litre (€1.40 to €1). Not quite as widely available as LPG but not too bad.
It's definitely an option, and has got me thinking.....
I think the BRS E85 conversion includes a remap as well as a new ECU though - I can't imagine that the output goes up that much without a bit of BRS trickery on the boost etc.
Does anyone know how much it costs from BRS?
