Default Damage to bumper and headlight!! Stupid me!!

In my stupidity I forgot to put the handbrake on and my car rolled into another car and caused some damage.... I normally never leave my car in neutral!!! Anyway, done is done.

The damage to the other car will be covered by my insurance policy (luckily I have a no claim discount protection!!)

The damage to my car is that the brackets to the headlight is broken and the bumper has been pushed slightly into the engine compartment. I've had it checked over by my local bodyshop and they say I should count myself lucky it didn't damage the radiator and that the cheapest way to fix this would be a new bumper and a bumper support "thing". The frame was slightly dented (minor) and he said I shouldn't worry about that. He did say that you never know what they'll find when they take the bumper off though...maybe more damage?

Apparently I don't need a whole new headlight since they can get just the brackets and fit that.

He's quoted me £250 for the work + parts (bumper, bumper support "thing") and headlight bracket. He also said I can source the parts myself and they'll fit it.

    A few questions

1 Does the price sound about right? I don't want to be ripped off.

2 Anywhere I could get the parts cheap myself? Anyone selling a bumper plus bumper support "thing" (whatever that is)

3 Would it be easy to fit the bumper and headlight myself, how hard is it?

4 If I buy a bumper, what is actually included? Is it all

I wish.. It's £250 for the labour and then parts on top!

I just had a look at it again and it can't be that difficult to fit...only some screws The actual frame is also pushed slightly in but I hope that won't make much difference for fitting the bumper?

Anywhere I can get a cheap bumper? Do I need to prime and paint it myself or do they come ready colored? What is the part number for a 2004 Vectra C SXI bumper? Picture of my current one below.

Also, one bodyshop told me I had to buy a whole new headlight unit even though it's only one bracket that is broken. The other one said Vauxhall sell replacement brackets. Does anyone know anything about that and any part numbers.

Sorry,i know I ask a lot of questions

The headlight and bumper are both dead easy to fit and £250 to fit them is a joke.
I'm afraid you will need a complete headlight though as the bracket is all part of the headlight uit.

the quote of £250 seems to expensive
the head light bracket can be plastic welded back on
the front bumper doesn't look to bad, have you tryed to remove it to see if their is and damage to it as it might refit straight back on unless it had chipped paint

It's not really chipped, just dented a bit. But I can live with that for a while. I haven't had it off yet, but it looks like the brackets/screws or however the bumper is fitted are broken.

However, if you look at the picture below, you can see (circled in red) that there is a big gap between one of the bumper screws and the bit where it should be attached to the frame (it's a plastic thing but it's screwed to the metal frame which is slightly dented). I tried pushing the bumper in but it doesn't really budge. I also tried pulling the plastic frame towards the bumper but that doesn't really budge much either. You can see the plastic frame thing is slightly touching the radiator.. On the other side there a good 2-3cm gap.

So I'm worried that a new bumper might not actually fit since the metal frame is a bit bent....
