    Default Colour coded sills

I'm getting my black plastic sill covers colour coded next week at local spray shop. He says if I can take them off it will save him time masking the rest of the car up and, more importantly save me money .
    Anyone taken these off before?
Is it an easy job? Whats involved? Are they easy to re-fit?

    hi m8

sorry if no 1 has replied to ya post so i will, thats if you aint already done
the job, they are very easy to remove, open both front and rear doors on either side and pull off the long seal trim that runs along the top edge of the sill and then just push the centre d**k out of all the rivets underneath and along the top edge of the skirts and also on the rear end caps and they will pull straight off but remember to go and buy some more rivets so you can re-fit them,if you need any part numbers for rivets etc or more info then feel free to pm me.

have you not thought in buyin new skirts thats in primer and smooth

While your at it m8 I would get the lower front lip done too - and that comes off very easy.

Thanks for the reply guys, did the removal last week and sills are now in spray shop.
I did the job exactly as Andy said but for those of you intending to do this job be aware of a further small step to do before pulling them off otherwise you will break part of the front clip like me.

The trick is to slide the sill forward about an inch to remove it from this clip before pulling it off.

Hopefully when I come to put them back on the lack of these clips won't affect much. I think the plastic rivets will hold them in place.

...your local VX dealer will have some of these plastic rivets and may even give you a couple if you break any

Yeah I'm sure they would Cyb but can't be ar**d with 60 mile round trip just for them. Like most things you take to bits there always seems to be a bit or two left over and it still works fine without them
