Lovely place, Good Pizza hut for the kids too. Gorgeous marina, some proper boats, Faro just up the road has a really spot on shopping centre.....

Love the place. Try and get to Tavira too.

it's a great place...as andrew said, it's nice round the harbour, but can get pricey on the 'sea veiw' cafe's...

we enjoyed our stays on the algarve.. mainly in carviero, but on the whole it's a cracking place..

my parents have a villa on VilaSol - which is about 5 mins from Vilamoura, so we go there a lot!.
Fantastic place - great resturants, great people.

Tell me what food you like and i'll recommend some good resturants.. Its not that expensive too..

    Where are you staying?

Foodwise we need a bit of everything really, son likes pizza's, scampi n chips, english brekfast etc, wife is vegetarian, and i eat just about anything and everything.

We intend to prepare some meals oursleves at the appartment but go out for tea/dinner around 6.30ish and also breakfast some days.

We are stopping in old village even though its supposed to be quite new.

You;ll love it mate.. Wonderfull Place.

Go to the Harbour front when you want to eat - there is virtually every variety of food you could want... There is a Pizza Hut, but personally I would recommend staying away from that and go to a resturante that also do Pizza, much better, homemade pizza's.

A fantastic resturante that has virtually everything from Steaks to fish, to Pizza, to pasta to kids meals is in the courner of the harbour on the front.. Along the bottom straight of the harbour (its a hourse shoe) there is an Irish Bar - big two story outdoor bar... Well, if you are standing with your back to the water looking at the bar, turn to your left and walk to the far courner. there is a resturante along that same straight right in the courner. Cant for the life of me remember what it is called, but it has a full glass front.. You will find fantastic food, and great service... they also acomodate kids and do virtually anythying for them...

TBH - if you go to a resturante on the harbour front that you like the look of the menu, you wont go wrong, they are all great!.. I have prob been in most of the bigger ones and yet to find one I wouldnt go back too..

Oh and the main thing, the beer to drink is SAGRES!!!! Lovely!

    Cheers
