Default 1.9 CDTi 16v Inlet Manifold

Good evening everyone, I've got a 54 Signum 1.9 CDTI (150) with the dreaded inlet manifold issue regarding the worn out swirl valves.
The bar has totally fallen off now, with messy gunk around all of the valves.
It's at the Dealers now having a new manifold fitted, and i've asked the question of whether they need to take off the cambelt to change it.... they say not but i've always thought that you did...?
Obviously if the belt does need to come off i was going to get them to fit a new belt kit & waterpump at the same time..(the car has just gone over 40,000 miles.....) but i know the belts on these are supposed to be good for 100,000 miles.... and Vauxhall confirmed this today.....
Just wondered what others have had done with the same job......?

    Cheers,
    Dave.

The new revised way of doing this repair is NOT to take the cambelt off, they can now work around it with the revised instructions

I found this bar had fallen off mine and I cleaned it up and stuck it back on (not an easy task) what does it do? I hadn't really noticed a difference when it was off.

A update to the manifold issue.....
Picked the car up from Vauxhall today. I have a warranty with Warranty Direct and i've had to pay nothing.... they even got Vaux to contribute 30% as a good will....!
I think the total bill was for about £800, and the car feels much better to drive, with very little turbo lag between the gears. The fuel consumption is improved too.
As Vaux said, they didn't have to touch the cambelt....
    Very pleased.....
