Guys we are thinking of getting this telly and wondered if any one has it and whats their view on it etc. Or can suggest another version that they think is very good.

Have a read HERE but please bear in mind that the Samsung does strugle with decent sound quality.
My son has just bought 42" Samsung Plasma and while the picture quality is superb he is a little disappointed with the sound quality so runs it through a home cinema set up.

I bought a 47" Philips recently and the sound quality was awful. I just bought a Philips upright home cinema system and it's made it superb.

Nice tv the Samsung. You can buy the matching cinema system for that model too.

Hi caterman. I did read that all or most of the flat panel televisons were a bit light on the bass due to the limited space in the chassis, and the reveiwer had suggested a theater surround sound package to go with these. I think I will, but was wondering if the quality of this one (and others) was on a par with the CRT versions. My mates looks ok from a distance (LG) but when your up close and say the footballs on it does appear a little shadowy around the players or is that motion lag?

Most screens now are easily fast enough to prevent smearing and motion lag. (After all they're mostly made by the same few giant panel manufacturers). The sharpness sometimes depends on the picture processing and some models let you trade say sharpness for picture noise etc.

I have a 40" Samsung (slightly different model) and it's been excellent. Gets dusty very easy though. Sound is ok for us.

The inlaws have recently got a Samsung 32" LCD and the picture is very good - don't know about audio as they already run their Sky+ box through a surround setup.

Judging by the reviews it seems that Samsung are a safe bet.
