Default Went to the cinema – daylight robbery

Went to the picture (the Quay in Glasgow) last night, forgot how bl@@dy expensive it was. The guy behind the food/sweet counter should have had a mask and pistols.

The standard seats were £6.90, you could go for the premium option for £8.30

Small tub of two scoop ice cream £3.15

Regular size drink (concentrate from tap stuff) 2.95. Even a bottle of water was £2.50.

It’s our own fault I should have remembered to get something before we went there. You would think they would want to encourage people to go to the cinema, would hate to think how much it costs a family of 4 to go to the pics.

P.S. The film was OK (rocknrolla). Better than the last Guy R film but usual format.

We should have done the same Glynn, forgot all about it (we were even in M&S before we went there).

Would love to know how they justify the price

Who do you do that through, is it all cinemas or one chain.

If anyone is interested in grub before or after the cinema this looks like a good deal for Pizza Hut.

Parking at the Cineworld in Glasgow means either on-street or multi-storey, which will add more cost
However, I tend to leave the car and take the train instead

ODEON staff are on the look out for people taking in their own food and drinks, and may refuse entry, even if you have already purchased tickets!

Sadly ODEON do not do Early Bird tickets anymore, so all my previous visits have been to Cineworld
Although Iron Man had been pulled so I had to choice but to go to ODEON Xscape

Cinema going is becoming so expensive, I can totally understand why numbers are down and people wait for the film to come out on DVD, and hire it, or obtain hooky copies (not condoning piracy at all) - BUT i can understand the causes for it.

My wife took me to the new "Cine-delux" in Leicester on our wedding anniversary, to the "directors lounge" £12 a seat & spent £21 on snacks & drinks. Nice leather recliners though. Won't be making a habit of it !

Usually go on Wednesdays with Orange BOGOF deal text "film" to 241 from an orange phone.

I'd rather wait six months & buy the DVD off of play.com in a sale!!
