Default Help Fitting New Head Unit

Have a new CD30 MP3 to fit to replace CD30. Can I take the old one out and fit new one and take to stealers for the tech2 action. Or do the have to remove old radio and then fit new?

old one bust and being skipped.

I think they will need to unpair it from the car/display first.
