    Default Strange Small Oil Leak 1.8 (Non VVT).

    Guys and Gals,

    I have noticed a couple of spots of oil on my drive.

    Seems to be coming from the oil filter area and dripping down on to the sump etc.

    I've got underneath for a look and took a picture as follows;

    Sorry for the funny angle. I guess we are looking at the crankshaft sensor at the bottom which seems oil tight.

    The Oil filter, despite being changed a couple of months ago seems tight as well as I tried tightening it a bit more by hand. So basically do you think it could be the Oil filter weeping at the seal of the unidentified part as I have highlighted by the circle?

    Any help really appreciated. The new block paved drive isn't appreciating it too much at the moment!!!!!!

    Could be the runoff from when you miss the oil filler. Give it a gunk down and a rinse then see if it comes back

    I thought of that, but haven't put any oil in since the garage changed the oil a few months ago.

    Your a top man though, was trying to think of the name of the degreaser that me a dad used when we use to maintain our cars. Gunk is our boy!

    I'll try that and play the waiting game. Cheers merikiito.

    I'm beginning to think it's something that I'm doing to them. My Fiat Ducato van has also got a an oil leak from the sump gasket and turbo oil return pipe. Can't get the time at the mo to get that off the road and get it sorted.
